Treatment of Acid Reflux

There are multiple causes of GERD, including excess stomach acid production, bacteria, medications that wear down the lining of the stomach, and others. Additionally, obesity and smoking can also be contributing causes. On some occasions, a heart attack can feel like acid reflux and indigestion. During your evaluation, we will help determine if your symptoms are representative of a more serious condition. If there are concerning factors, you may need a more comprehensive evaluation. In some instances, this can be performed by us through a video telemedicine visit, and in some cases, you will need an in-person evaluation by a healthcare provider. You may also need to see a Gastrointestinal Doctor or your Primary Care Physician. We may be able to provide relief of your symptoms including medications to help control acid production, suggestions for diet change, and smoking cessation counseling if applicable.
