Treatment of Sprain
Sprains are often caused by an abnormal force to a joint resulting in tearing or stretching of the ligaments. The pain is usually noticed right away during the activity. You can help reduce the likelihood you’ll experience a sprain by engaging in regular exercise, stretching, and strength conditioning. Common treatment modalities include rest, ice, elevation, immobilization of the joint with a splint or ace wrap, crutches, and medications. There are instances when an x-ray or other diagnostic/treatment modalities may be required. We will evaluate your symptoms and help determine a course of action to help you feel better.
